Commission has now suggested to the Delegations of the Netherlands and of the Republic that as a first step in compliance with the Security Council’s directive [1] of March 23rd discussions be held in Batavia beginning March 30th. The Republican Delegation has also been informed that the Commission ‘remains ready to lend whatever assistance it can to facilitate contacts between the Republican bodies before and during discussions’.
