At this morning’s meeting Van Royen stated that he was not in a position to give his delegation’s answer to the Republican Working Paper (K.299 [1]) but that he would possibly be able to do so on Friday or Saturday this week.
2. Roem who was disappointed at the Netherlands delay pressed for early decisions. At the suggestion of Van Royen it was agreed that the parties should hold informal meetings between the parties during the next two days. Van Royen undertook to give what answers he could on the working paper at the next meeting on the afternoon of April 21st.
3. Please repeat to London for Burton.
