BALKAN CONCILIATION COMMITTEE For the purpose of facilitating methods of agreement between the Governments of Greece, Albania, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia and with a view to resolving existing disputes and establishing good neighbourly relations, the Paris meeting of the General Assembly, which was presided over by Dr. Evatt, appointed a special Conciliation Committee. The proceedings of the Conciliation Committee were resumed today at Lake Success. Those present were Dr. Evatt, President of the General Assembly, Mr. F. van Langenhove (Belgium), Chairman of the First Committee, Mr. S. Sarper (Turkey), Rapporteur of the First Committee, and Mr. A.W. Cordier, Executive Assistant to the Secretary-General. Mr. S.L. Atyeo, representative of Australia on UNSCOB, is acting as Secretary to the Conciliation Committee.

After the meeting, Dr. Evatt stated that arrangements had been made to continue the efforts at mediation, especially in view of the substantial progress already made in the negotiations at Paris. Official information had been received that representatives of all four countries concerned would be available for participation in talks.
