IMMEDIATE RESTRICTED
2. Korea. Australian joint resolution adopted by committee by 44 votes to 6 with 5 abstentions. All Commonwealth voted in favour. Commission consists of all seven previous members except Syria which is replaced by Turkey. United States with our support attempted to secure Chinese withdrawal but China refused. El Salvador backed by Latin Americans also insisted on remaining. If either had withdrawn Commission would have been reduced to five.[1]
