My telegram No. 825. [2] In reply to formal note Secretary of State has today advised me [3] that appointment of Minister to take charge all affairs relating to Australia is entirely acceptable to the United States Government and that President [4] will accord formal recognition at convenience of His Majesty [5] and His Majesty’s Government in the Commonwealth of Australia.
